Our Story
We're passionate about preserving history and exploring the unknown.
Houselore was established by Alexandra Jones, a historian of Modern European History with over a decade of experience in historic preservation. After attaining an MA in Historical Studies from the University of Glasgow, Alexandra spent several years working as a curator at historic sites in the USA before traveling and filming with a paranormal investigation group at various castles, jails, and historic sites throughout Scotland.
This inspired her to create Houselore, a worldwide directory of historic and haunted places where you can stay, tour, play, and explore.

Alexandra Jones – Founder
Alexandra is the founder of Houselore and leads Strategic Partnerships from a little castle in Linlithgow. Her favourite place is the Old Town of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Cam Evans – Tech Guru
Who you gonna call? Cam Evans! He’s our resident tech master and code wrestler based in London. His favourite place is Jedburgh Jail.
Jason Moore – Listings Manager
Jason is our Listings Manager and is based in New York, where he handles listing logistics, events, and ad placements. His favourite place is the Winchester Mansion.
